you are right, my concern was that you could swing your attack over there really fast, but looking at the trouble I'm in now makes me think it wasn't a valid concern.

I tend to think that instead of a3 and b4, you should consider to castle then. Now the consequences are pretty clear. I don't think the H rook is a huge danger as long as you have a night at G3, and you can do h3 at any time.
